Higuchi Wins Best Bat Award in August Thursday, September 1st, 2022 Narihira Higuchi is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the New Orleans second baseman joined that select company when the Buck O'Neil League announced the results of August's voting. Higuchi totaled 40 hits, 7 walks, 6 home runs, 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored last month to put together a .345 batting average and .379 on-base percentage. In 70 games this year Higuchi has posted a .314 average and put up these numbers: 8 home runs, 36 RBIs and 29 runs scored. |
