Shihei Sato Sidelined for 9 Months
Wednesday, August 24th, 2022
"I'm frustrated right now," said West Virginia reliever Shihei Sato. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Dancin' Outlaws, that's where he will be spending 9 months. Sato suffered a torn rotator cuff in today's game against Beach City while throwing a pitch. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be."
So far this season, Sato has a 4-0 won-lost record with 3 saves. He has made 49 relief appearances, logged 72.1 innings and fanned 93 batters while fashioning a 3.11 ERA and allowing the opposition a .225 batting average.
