Rees Raps Austin for 6 Hits Sunday, August 14th, 2022 It was a good day for the Frosties at Hipster Grounds as they clipped the Austin Hipsters 17-0. It was tremendous day for Robert Rees, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 6 for 6 barrage. The Barrow shortstop told reporters after his big 6-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well." Robert Rees singled in the 1st, hit a three-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. For the season Rees has produced 69 hits in 257 at-bats for a .268 average with 5 home runs and gotten on base at a .318 clip. |
