Pittman Socks it to Stealers, Cracks 5 Hits
Sunday, July 24th, 2022
It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Jon Pittman -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Tim Raines Stadium and paced the Road Warriors to a 8-2 win over the Cherry Hill Stealers. After his dynamite batting performance the Westside right fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Jon Pittman doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Pin-zhen Sun in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 66 games this year Pittman has posted a .418 average and put up these numbers: 7 home runs, 49 RBIs and 65 runs scored.
