Ruma Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Sunday, August 22nd, 2021
After the Palm Beach 15-4 victory over Kingwood and his 5-hit day shortstop Sushil Ruma told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 19-year-old player gained that distinction today at Stable Park with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Kingwood Knights. The skipper of the Bums spoke glowingly of Ruma, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Sushil did that to perfection today." Sushil Ruma singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This year Ruma has hit 9 home runs and posted a .245 batting average.
