Wimbush Torches Outlaws for 5 Hits Saturday, September 30th, 2023 Bill Wimbush told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Wimbush of the Frisco Rams did against the Ottawa Outlaws. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Outlaws, who suffered a 22-8 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Bill Wimbush doubled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. For the year Wimbush has hit .353 with 13 home runs, 66 RBIs and scored 81 runs. |
