Red-Hot Tanaka Scorches Hawks
Sunday, September 17th, 2023
No matter what the Boise Hawks threw at him today, Masami Tanaka hit it. He easily handled Hawks pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Storm Troopers to a 13-9 triumph at Basque Block Field. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Boise skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." Masami Tanaka singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
So far this year Tanaka is hitting .268 with 14 home runs.
