August's Premier Pitcher Announced By FFL Friday, September 1st, 2023 In August, Loeck Jurgens tore through the Ford Frick League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 21 years old. The young Long Island starter posted a 4-0 mark and an ERA of 2.41 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 33.2 innings he collected 30 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .202 average. So far this year Jurgens has made 27 starts, tossed 154.2 innings, struck out 136 batters and walked 83. His record is 14-2 with a 3.90 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .239 batting average. |
