Puckett Hits in 20 Straight Games Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 The Defenders proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Outlaws 11-6, but Jim Puckett continued his god-like hitting as he collected 2 hits and ran his hitting streak to 20 games. When asked about his torrid-hitting right fielder, the West Coast skipper said, "Puckett is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Puckett was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters." Jim Puckett singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. So far this year, Puckett is batting .319 with 3 home runs and 64 RBIs. |
