González Suspended by League Sunday, August 6th, 2023 It got ugly on the field today in the Mustang and Spartans game, when José González was ejected for arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire. Before he left the dugout area, González threw a few bats and a garbage can on the field toward home plate. League officials thought the Carson City center fielder went too far and gave him a 4-game suspension. "Sometimes your emotions get the better of you and you just sort of lose control," González told reporters, "but that doesn't mean I was wrong, just out of control." González's current batting average stands at .209 and he has chalked up no home runs and 15 RBIs. |
