Lovell Blisters Buzzard's Bay Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 Newark left fielder Joe Lovell could do no wrong in today's 16-1 win over the Beetlecats as he collected 5 hits. "In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Beetlecats said to the press corps after the game. Lovell agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Joe Lovell struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. So far this year in 51 games Lovell is hitting .277 with 4 home runs, 19 RBIs and 14 runs scored. |
