League Issues Chittibabu 4-Game Suspension Sunday, April 16th, 2023 It got ugly on the field today in the Tourists and Defenders game, when Tejal Chittibabu was ejected for arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire. Before he left the dugout area, Chittibabu threw a few bats and a garbage can on the field toward home plate. League officials thought the Asheville second baseman went too far and gave him a 4-game suspension. "Sometimes your emotions get the better of you and you just sort of lose control," Chittibabu told reporters, "but that doesn't mean I was wrong, just out of control." To date, Chittibabu has collected 10 hits for a .208 average. He has posted 1 home run, scored 6 runs and driven in 8 runs. |
