5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Alistair Grove of the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats. He tore up the Newark Jail Birds to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the Buzzard's Bay 12-1 win today at Cobras Ballpark. "Grove was a tough out today," the Newark manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Alistair Grove singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.

This year Grove is batting .307 with 157 hits and 22 home runs. He has scored 100 times and has batted in 101 runs.
