Pittman Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Saturday, September 10th, 2022
Pat Pittman of the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats just keeps going and going. The hot-hitting right fielder went 2-for-5 in his team's 12-1 victory over the Newark Jail Birds at Cobras Ballpark and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.
"He is definitely on a roll right now" said a Jail Birds pitcher. "I thought I made some good pitches against him, but he's a good hitter and hit 'em anyway."
When asked about his performance, Pittman said, "I don't care if I go hitless as long as we get the win." Pat Pittman grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Travis Smith in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
This year Pittman has 11 home runs and a .316 batting average.
