Hope Dims for Nii's Recovery Saturday, August 13th, 2022 An injury, a fractured skull, has put an early end to the baseball career of West Coast's 28-year-old left fielder Takafumi Nii. He was injured in yesterday's game against the Wichita Wolverines while making a defensive play. Team doctors reported today that the injury is so severe that Nii will not be able to continue playing and will have to retire from the game. This year Nii is hitting .338 with 1 home run and 11 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .476 clip and scored 18 runs. |
