Jail Birds Reliever Peoples Injured Sunday, June 19th, 2022 Earlier today, Newark reliever Greg Peoples had to leave the game against West Coast because of an injury. Team officials are reporting that he has a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and will miss 11 months of play. Peoples was hurt throwing a pitch and was unable to continue playing. He will be evaluated this afternoon by team physicians. This year Peoples has collected no saves in 26 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 5-1 won-lost mark with a 6.08 ERA and fanned 38 batters in 37 innings. Opponents are hitting him at a .248 clip in 2022. |
