Sandy Springs's Araki Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Friday, June 17th, 2022 It was a sensational day at the plate for Tetsu Araki, but a letdown as well as the Spartans dropped the game 6-4 to the Mustang. Nonetheless the Sandy Springs left fielder was pure misery for the Carson City pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win. That's the important thing," Araki said. The manager of the Mustang told BNN reporters after the game, "Araki put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw him some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Tetsu Araki hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th. In 43 games this year Araki has posted a .253 average and put up these numbers: 4 home runs, 34 RBIs and 33 runs scored. |
