League KO's Mustang-Spartans Players with 8-Game Suspensions
Sunday, October 3rd, 2021
The league commissioner announced that two players had been suspended for inappropriate conduct. He told BNN, "What I'm trying to do with these penalties is say, we can't stop you from doing these things, but if you do them, you have to understand you will pay the consequences."
Baseball can be an intense game and on-field confrontations happen. However, the league disciplinary policy is to punish, sometimes severely, those who decide to settle things with their fists.
When Michael Dillard of the Carson City Mustang and Tom Hanson of the Sandy Springs Spartans got into a scuffle during a game, both players knew that a suspension would be forthcoming.
Sure enough, today it was announced that both players will each receive a 8-game suspension for their actions in a recent game at Cowboys Stadium.
This season Dillard has hit at a .266 clip with 23 RBIs, 5 home runs and 33 runs scored. He has played in 82 games.
Up to now Hanson has recorded a record of 1-1. In 6 starts he has fanned 29 batters in 37.1 innings with a 3.62 ERA.
