Naran Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle Friday, October 1st, 2021 Donkal Naran really put the hurt on the Bird-in-Hand Hunters today, leading the Goers to a 5-1 win. He tagged them for 4 hits in 5 at-bats and hit for the cycle. Naran also had 4 RBI and 2 runs scored in the game at The Bird Stadium. Hitting for the cycle is one of the most unusual feats in baseball at any level. The odds are near astronomical against a player hitting a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game. The Temple shortstop said after the game, "I got some great pitches to hit... all 4 times the pitches didn't go where the pitcher wanted them to go. I hit their mistakes. Hitting for the cycle was great, but winning the game and helping my team is far more important. Individual accomplishments are fine, but I want to win, too." Donkal Naran singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Wilton O'Neill in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a two-run triple in the 8th. This year Naran is hitting .365 with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs in 25 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .484 with 11 walks and 7 runs scored. |
