Bad News for Rock River, Jim Carlson Hurt

Rock River Rats right fielder Jim Carlson suffered a ruptured achilles tendon during a recent game with the Wichita Wolverines and will miss 8 months. Carlson told BNN, "I hurt it running the bases. I'm optimistic that I will be back quicker than they say."

This season Carlson is swinging the bat at a .235 pace. He has hit 19 home runs and scored 68 times, while driving in 91. His on-base percentage is .343 and he has played in 134 games.
