Wyatt Bashes 5 Base Hits Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Tom Wyatt got one today. He scattered hits all over Hellcats Park to pace Jacksonville to a 9-5 victory over Asheville. The Asheville skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Wyatt hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Tom Wyatt doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. A look at his season totals shows Wyatt with 10 home runs, .282 BA, .405 OBP, 65 RBIs and 65 runs scored. |
