White Smacks 3 Out of the Park Saturday, August 7th, 2021 Doug White was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the Newark 10-7 triumph over Buzzard's Bay, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands. Nobody who was at Bloomfield Road will forget this home run outburst anytime soon. The Newark first baseman went 3-5, rung up 8 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. He told the press corps after his three home run binge, "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight. I can't wait until tomorrow's game. I really feel good at the plate." Doug White hit a solo-shot off Michael Moyer in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Michael Moyer in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Christian Lawrence in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. This season in 106 games White is batting .368 with 29 home runs, 97 RBIs and has scored 92 times. |
