Uchiyama Ups Hit Streak to 25 Consecutive Games Friday, July 9th, 2021 And the hits just keep on coming -- especially off the red-hot bat of Yasujiro Uchiyama. The Red Bulls right fielder got 3 hits in 4 at-bats in today's 12-4 triumph over the Asheville Tourists at Red Bull Stadium. Uchiyama has now hit safely in his last 25 games. Asked by the press, how it feels to go through something like this, he replied, "the longer it goes on, the more the pressure intensifies. The press coverage can get relentless at times. I wish I could just go out and play the game without all this distraction, but I know that's not going to happen. I know I will just have to grin and bear it." Yasujiro Uchiyama singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit a two-run double in the 7th. So far this season Uchiyama is hitting .374 with 21 home runs, 79 RBIs and 71 runs scored. He has 110 hits in 294 at-bats and a .482 OBP. |
