Raiders Tovar Suspended Friday, September 15th, 2023 Reno shortstop Miguel Tovar was ejected in the game between the Raiders and Argonauts for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade against the home plate umpire after some calls didn't go the way he wanted. Tovar was just as incensed after the game. "These guys are a joke. How can people expect to take this game seriously when you have games like this?" Tovar said in the locker room after the game. Now Tovar must face the consequences of this actions. League officials released this brief statement to the media: "We are regretful that Tovar has taken this to the level that it has reached. The league will not tolerate this type of conduct. Due to his actions during and after the game, the league is suspending him for 2 games." Currently Tovar is hitting .272 and has collected no home runs, 34 RBIs and scored 34 times, while playing in 89 games. |
