Yamada on Fire, 5-5 Against Billings
Thursday, August 10th, 2023
It was a big day with the bat for Ryobe Yamada of the Chicago Titans at Cobb Field as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Billings 12-1. After the game he said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today. 5 hits in 5 tries. But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story." At the end of the game Yamada had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Titans had won. Ryobe Yamada singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Júlio Reyes in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
Yamada has a .317 average and a .366 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 58 hits, 3 home runs and driven in 17 runs.
