Anderson and Perez Fight, Get Suspended
Saturday, June 24th, 2023
The league commissioner announced that two players had been suspended for inappropriate conduct. He told BNN, "What I'm trying to do with these penalties is say, we can't stop you from doing these things, but if you do them, you have to understand you will pay the consequences."

Baseball can be an intense game and on-field confrontations happen. However, the league disciplinary policy is to punish, sometimes severely, those who decide to settle things with their fists.

When Derrek Anderson of the Acapulco Banditos and François Perez of the Winston Unionists got into a scuffle during a game, both players knew that a suspension would be forthcoming.

Sure enough, today it was announced that both players will each receive a 7-game suspension for their actions in a recent game at Underdogs Ballpark.

A look at his season totals shows Anderson with 9 home runs, .256 BA, .328 OBP, 45 RBIs and 40 runs scored.

For the season Perez has made 21 relief appearances, recorded 1 save, compiled a 2-3 won-lost mark and a 7.92 ERA. In pitching 44.1 innings, he has totaled 34 strikeouts and 16 walks.
