Great Stroke: Kent Gets 5 Hits
Monday, June 12th, 2023
It was a good day all around. Indian Wells whipped Winston 13-3 and Jeff Kent displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Bulldog Stadium. "Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Jeff is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have." The 31-year-old right fielder for the Aeropostales collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book. Jeff Kent singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Thus far this season Kent is hitting .326 with no home runs, 33 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 46 hits in 141 at-bats and has played in 49 games.
