Yamamoto and Perez Suspended 9 Games Sunday, April 30th, 2023 You would have thought you were at a hockey game yesterday at Stars Field. A free-for-all broke out when Takuma Yamamoto of Indian Wells and François Perez of Winston rushed one another on the field and had to be restrained by umpires and teammates. Few blows landed, but it was enough for them to be ejected from the game. Today both teams received notification from the league office that the two players would be suspended for 9 games. Yamamoto is batting .414 this season in 21 games with 2 home runs, 12 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has 29 hits in 70 at-bats. This season Perez has made 3 relief appearances and has no saves. His record is 1-2 with 15 strikeouts in 22.2 innings with a 5.96 ERA. |
