Ogura Smacks 5 Hits for Coal Miners
Monday, September 12th, 2022
"Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Antioch's Nobukazu Ogura told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well." It definitely turned out well for Ogura today as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats against Pasadena. It turned out well for his team, too, as the Coal Miners knocked off the Bumblebees 11-4 at The Hole. Nobukazu Ogura hit a two-run home run off Wilbert Hill in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
Posting a .294 batting average to date, Ogura has 23 home runs and 101 RBIs.
