Hit Parade: Ogura Gets Cycle
Monday, September 12th, 2022
At The Hole today Nobukazu Ogura led Antioch to a 11-4 victory over the Bumblebees by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's most difficult feats.
The Coal Miners left fielder told reporters after the game, "Most people think the triple is the hardest one to get, but today, it was the homer... because the ball wasn't carrying. When I took it deep, I expected the ball to die on the warning track. Seeing the umpire give me the signal to circle the bases was sweet."
In addition to going 5-5, Ogura chalked up 2 runs batted in and scored 3 runs in an exceptional performance.
Nobukazu Ogura hit a two-run home run off Wilbert Hill in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
For the year Ogura has hit .294 with 23 home runs, 101 RBIs and scored 68 runs.
