Petty and Kimura Suspended, Out 4 Games
Sunday, July 3rd, 2022
The fans at Cobb Field saw it all yesterday in the Mustangs-Titans game -- pushes, shoves, scuffles, a few tackles, a few swings, a few feeble punches -- and a baseball game, too. When the ruckus was over, only two players were sent to the showers by the umpire crew. Billings's Tony Petty and Chicago's Jun'ichi Kimura were ejected from the game.
Today the two players were suspended 4 games by the league commissioner.
For the season Petty is currently batting .280 with 7 home runs and 39 RBIs. In 75 games he has reached base at a .341 rate and scored 36 runs to date.
This season Kimura has made 41 relief appearances with no saves. His won-lost record is 6-1 with a 3.79 ERA.
