5-5 Game for Alonso Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 The Canadians whipped the Coal Miners 9-7 at The Coal Mine and Alfonso Alonso had a big hand in the win. The Canadians second baseman came to the plate 5 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Alonso and a tough day for Antioch. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, Alonso delivered today -- 5-5 is outstanding in any league. Alfonso Alonso hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. During the current season Alonso is batting at a .310 clip with 5 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 50 games and scored 31 times. |
