Rowdy Players Suspended by League Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Sabercats-Unionists game at Mystic Lake Stadium yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected Mdewanketon's Rafael Ospira and Winston's Eric Hastings. Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 9 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior. Ospira on the season is batting .286 with 6 home runs. His totals include 24 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has played in 37 games. This year Hastings has a 0-0 record with a 9.64 ERA in 0 starts. |
