Verney Sizzles with 25-Game Batting Streak Saturday, May 28th, 2022 The Bronx Bombers stopped the Astoria Argonauts today 14-10 and Graham Verney was able to hit safely again. The Bronx center fielder got 5 hits and ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25. Verney was excited after the victory and told the press, "I want to get a hit every time up. I want to get a hit every game I play. I want to win every game for the greatest fans in the world, Bombers fans!" Graham Verney hit a solo-shot off George Bedford in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and walked in a run in the 8th. In the current season, Verney has put up a .413 batting average with 74 hits, 3 home runs, 27 RBI and scored 25 runs. |
