Big Day for Márquez: Swats 5 Hits Sunday, May 15th, 2022 No matter what the Bronx Bombers threw at him today, Angelito Márquez hit it. He easily handled Bombers pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Freedom to a 7-1 triumph at Bronx Ballpark. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Bronx skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." Angelito Márquez singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Presently Márquez is batting .371 with 2 home runs and 14 RBIs. He has played in 19 games and scored 8 times. |
