Red-Hot Moreno Scorches Banditos
Wednesday, April 6th, 2022
After the Coronado 11-7 loss to Acapulco and his 5-hit day second baseman Juan Moreno told reporters, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school, or college ball. Two hits in a game is very good, three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special. It will get you in the record books, but you won't necessarily win the ballgame." The 21-year-old player got into the record book today with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Acapulco Banditos. The skipper of the Phantoms spoke glowingly of Moreno, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Juan did that to perfection today. I just wish some more of our players swung the bat as good as him. We might have won the game." Juan Moreno singled in the 1st, hit an R
BI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
