5-Hit Game for Johnson
Tuesday, September 14th, 2021
Jared Johnson really did a number on the Freedom in the Reno 16-7 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 6 at-bats. But Jared Johnson did just that today for the Raiders and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win. "I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 27-year-old right fielder said after his record-setting performance. Jared Johnson struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Alejandro García in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Johnson has collected 143 hits for the Raiders this year, 26 of them home runs. He has also netted 102 RBIs and scored 71 runs while batting .274.
