White Tosses Shutout
Thursday, August 26th, 2021
Before the game Joseph White liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Fireballs pitcher whitewashed the Antioch Coal Miners 8-0.
White said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."
The Joplin starter held Antioch scoreless, giving up 5 hits while registering 7 strikeouts and issuing 2 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Coal Miners manager said in his postgame interview.
"When that happens, you usually lose."
For the season White has compiled a 6-2 record with a 3.65 ERA.
