Matt Quinlan Out of Action
Thursday, June 3rd, 2021
The Antioch Coal Miners learned that Matt Quinlan is likely to be out for 9 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Vancouver Canadians. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Antioch manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Matt is back in action."
On the season Quinlan has compiled a 4-5 mark with a 6.59 ERA in 12 starts. In pitching 56 innings he has 60 strikeouts and 38 walks while limiting the opposition to a .323 batting average.
