Toyoda Cracks 5 Hits Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 Who needs batting practice? Akio Toyoda of Kansas City apparently doesn't as he battered Duke City with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 42-5 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 9 day... will my name be in the record books now?" Akio Toyoda singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, grounded out in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Tony Green in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off William Howard in the 8th. So far this year Toyoda is batting .296 with 31 home runs. |
