Baba Bashes 5 Base Hits Thursday, July 6th, 2023 The Armada whipped the Bombers 24-0 at Lucky 7 Ballpark and Masaki Baba had a big hand in the win. The Armada right fielder came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Baba and a tough day for South Carolina. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, Baba delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league. Masaki Baba singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Billy Collins in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Baba has collected 118 hits for the Armada this year, 16 of them home runs. He has also netted 50 RBIs and scored 63 runs while batting .354. |
