Rojas Batters Washington for 5 Hits Thursday, May 25th, 2023 It seemed that San Diego catcher António Rojas could do no wrong as the Hops kayoed the Federals 11-7 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Washington pitchers couldn't get him out as Rojas seemed to know which pitches they were throwing. "I think the Hops were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Washington fan. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Rojas in the postgame press interview. António Rojas hit a two-run home run off Allen Cox in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Thus far this year Rojas has hit .278 with 6 home runs and 24 RBIs. |
