Young Batters Pax River Big Time Sunday, May 21st, 2023 What a day for Joe Young of the Seattle Sasquatch! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Pax River pitching apart at Progress Energy Field and sparked the Sasquatch to a 15-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Young told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Joe Young singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off James Logan in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. In his 2023 season totals, Young has 5 home runs, .398 BA, .446 OBP, 21 RBIs and 19 runs scored. |
