Great Stroke: Winters Gets 6 Hits
Saturday, April 15th, 2023
After the Kansas City 21-3 victory over Georgia and his 6-hit day right fielder Matt Winters told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 27-year-old player gained that distinction today at The Death Star with a spectacular 6 for 7 game against the Georgia Grays. The skipper of the Tornadoes spoke glowingly of Winters, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Matt did that to perfection today." Matt Winters singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

This season Winters has 2 home runs and a .429 batting average.
