Pitching Machine Responsible for Injury to Pochin Found to Be Safe
Friday, October 7th, 2022
Safety inspectors declared today that the pitching machine, which hurled an errant fastball into the helmet of Harvey Pochin, was working properly. Pochin, who was temporarily knocked unconscious when the machine unexpectedly delivered the ball "way high and inside", suffered a mild concussion. However, the Earthquakes expect Pochin to make a full recovery. "He should be back in uniform in a few more days," said manager Reynaldo Vázquez. "We'll keep an eye on him, but he should be fine." Teammate Paul Frank added, jokingly, "Harvey just needs to watch himself. I think that pitching machine has it out for him!"
