Republic Chill Williams's Hot Streak Thursday, September 15th, 2022 Dallas right fielder Ron Williams came into today's game against the So Cal Republic on a hot streak. When it was over, the Republic did their job very well. They beat the Dallas Texans 11-3 and cooled him off at the same time. So Cal stopped Williams without a hit and his 22-game hitting streak came to an end. The 26-year-old Williams only had a few words to say after the game, "I had a chance to do it and I came up short." His manager commented, "What Ron did was exciting and quite an achievement. It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 22 games in a row. I'm really proud of him. And I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play." This season Williams has 23 home runs and a .311 batting average. |
