Steve Wagner Hurt, Out of Action Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 The Manhatten Beach Patriots learned that Steve Wagner is likely to be out for 2-3 weeks after he injured himself colliding with a player at a base in today's game against the Washington Federals. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be an intercostal strain. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Manhatten Beach manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Steve is back in action." This season Wagner is hitting .327 with 104 hits, 19 home runs, 53 RBIs, scored 57 runs and played in 90 games. |
