The Kansas City catcher said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Curt Hall singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Robinson García in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
