Republic Kim Jr. Smacks 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 1st, 2022
Jong-min Kim Jr. got the glory and the headlines today, while the Montreal Bandits got the win. The So Cal third baseman easily handled Bandits pitching, going 5 for 5, but the Republic came out on the short end of the score 7-6. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "I'm glad I got the hits, but I would trade three or four of 'em for a win... maybe even all 5 of 'em." The Republic skipper added, "Well, it's a shame we didn't get the victory today, especially with his standout performance. Let's just hope our team can do better tomorrow." Jong-min Kim Jr. singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Yoshiaga Ueno in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year Kim Jr. has hit at a .305 pace and produced 33 RBIs, 11 home runs and scored 40 runs.
