Hops Closer Downs Injured

Nathaniel Downs of the San Diego Hops was injured in today's game against Minnesota and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a ruptured finger tendon and he is expected to be out for up to 4 months. It happened while Downs was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."

To this point in the season, Downs has no saves in 19 relief appearances with a 2-1 mark and 3.00 ERA. He has 21 strikeouts in 18 innings with 8 walks.
